Bookkeeping catch-up

Months behind, or years. Either way, we get you current.

A fixed-scope project with a start, a price and an end date. Every transaction categorised, every account reconciled, and books your CPA can actually work from — without you being the one who does it.

Who this is for

Nobody gets a lecture.

Nobody gets a lecture.

Nobody gets a lecture.

Owners come to us behind for the same few reasons, and none of them are interesting to us. What the books look like on day one doesn’t change the work, and it doesn’t change the price.

A few months behind

The books stopped somewhere around the busy season and never quite restarted. You know it needs doing; it keeps not being this week.

A year or more

You filed an extension, or filed on estimates. You roughly know what the year did. The books don’t, and neither does anyone else.

Behind, and starting over

The bookkeeper left mid-year, or the file was never set up properly to begin with. Somebody has to go back and untangle it.

What you get

Books you can hand
to your CPA.

Delivered once, at the end of the project — for every month we bring current.

Every transaction categorised

Bank, card and loan accounts coded consistently, month by month, oldest first.

Every account reconciled

Each account tied out to the statement, so the books and the money finally describe the same business.

The balance sheet cleaned up

Duplicates removed, mis-postings corrected, opening balances put right rather than carried forward.

How it works

You are only involved in the first two steps.

1

A short call

Tell us how far back it goes, what software you’re in and roughly how much moves through the accounts. You get the price and the end date from that call — before you commit to anything.

2

Statements and access

Read-only bank feeds, or the statements themselves if the feeds don’t reach back far enough. That is the last thing we need from you.

3

We rebuild the period

Month by month, oldest first: transactions categorised, accounts reconciled, errors corrected. We come back to you once, with a short list of the things only you can answer.

4

You get the pack

Clean books in your own file, in your own name, plus the statements and the handoff pack for your CPA. The project closes on the date we gave you.

What it costs

Priced per month of history. One number, before we start.

Priced per month of history. One number, before we start.

Catch-up is quoted per month we bring current, with a three-month minimum. The quote comes after a short call and a proper look at the file — and once it is quoted, that is the number.

Bookkeeping catch-up

One-off project · three-month minimum

$195

per month of history brought current

Quoted and agreed in writing before any work starts

Fixed once quoted — the number doesn’t change later

Two to three weeks from statements to delivery

What moves the price: how far back it goes, how much moves through the accounts, and how many accounts — and whether payroll or sales tax — are in the mix.

Your exact price is set after a short call, once we have seen the state of the file. Catch-up is a one-off project and is priced separately from monthly bookkeeping.

Our promise

Fixed scope. Fixed price. Fixed end date.

A catch-up is a project, not a subscription. You get the scope, the price and the end date in writing before any work starts — and you are under no obligation to carry on with us afterwards.

Who you’ll be dealing with

Accurate, and fast. In that order.

Falcon Back Office is a small, fully remote bookkeeping firm. Not a CPA firm and not a software product — a team who do this work daily and care about two things: that the numbers are right, and that you are not left waiting for them.

Most of our clients meet us through a catch-up. It ends when the books are current, and nothing about it obliges you to take anything further — no retainer to decline, no notice to give. If the clean books were all you wanted, that is where it stops.
